SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- 8x8, Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT) , provider of Packet8 (http://www.packet8.net) broadband Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and videophone communication services, today announced it has released a free firmware upgrade for the Packet8 Tango(R) Video Terminal Adapter (VTA) that enables the device to function as both a videophone and digital photo frame.

ASM not perfect, but still working

I would be rich if I received a dollar every time I heard something along the lines of "The Associated Students of Madison are useless." My favorite has probably been "ASM accomplishes nothing and steals students' money." Wow.

As the current legislative affairs chair of ASM, I am rendered speechless at these ignorant and often cruel comments. How and why are the students on this campus embittered and unwilling to trust their student government? Call me naÃ

Sorry Scots lucky to avoid a rout

It does not work and is cringeworthy to witness.6. Forget about structured game plans. Tell the team to go out with oceans of 'fire in their bellies' to die for their country and play the game as they see it in front of them.Play positive rugby - not the Battle of Ypres !!!We might still lose but at least we will be doing the right things for the development of Scottish rugby and our national pride. If Mr Hadden cannot see sense in any of my thoughts then I believe he should resign today and take Graham and Tatty ( sadly ) along with him. .

Statewide ban on smoking?

This town doesn't belong to smokers and just so you know, I pay far more taxes per PAY PERIOD ALONE than you do in 6 months by purchasing your cancer sticks. Let's talk about taxes now. How many tax dollars does it take to pay for numerous hospital visits involving respiratory treatments, cardiovascular complications and possible chemotherapy? Do you have health coverage? I certainly hope so because it will definitely take more than 20% of the population at 5 cents on the dollar per pack of smokes to cover the cost of the high number of hospital visits that you will eventually need once the effects of your self destructive habit begin to take over. If you had a brain, I would consider wasting more time typing this message but you and all others with your attitude are a lost cause and should be shot.

Audi's Super, Sensible Sports Coupe

So let's say you're as smitten as I am with the Audi R8, that midengine exotic that arrived from Germany last fall. But like me, you can't quite afford its six-figure price, relative bargain that it may be. You don't have the juice with your dealer to get on the waiting list anyway, plus you're kind of afraid of attracting too much attention from the local constabulary. Not to mention that you need a back seat. In other words, the R8 is about the last car you're likely to park in your driveway, so you've already banished it from your mind, and here I am needlessly taunting you.

Well, someone at parent-company Volkswagen must have realized that there are a whole lot of us who fit this description. Rather than squander the halo image of its supercar on a lineup consisting mostly of sedans -- hot as some Audi sedans may be -- the company decided to produce something to better monetize our fanboy-ism: a junior version, a subtly beautiful sports coupe with a back seat but sans midengine configuration and rakish aluminum body.

Saints in takeover talks with Gregg?

Former Everton director Paul Gregg is the latest person to be linked with a possible takeover at Saints.

Gregg, who left Goodison Park three years ago, is said to be in "advanced" talks with the club.

Gregg last summer failed in a bid to buy a controlling stake in Sheffield Wednesday.

Last week, Saints' board put on hold the search for a new manager in the wake of a stock exchange announcement regarding potential new investment in the club.

But after last night's 3-2 defeat at Stoke - Saints' second reverse in 72 hours - the board face a dilemma today as to whether to continue with caretaker managers John Gorman and Jason Dodd.

Their decision may hinge on how close any deal for new investment is.

Elisa Preston's blog

And the last one before Hollywood week sings tomorrow. Tomorrow night is the last city's audition, and it hits close to home: Atlanta. Idol hopefuls will laugh and cry, sing and dance, scream and hoot and holler, and of course, curse Simon out for being, well, Simon. Atlanta has a decent music history, as it is home to Eddie's Attic, a popular night club whose stage has seen its fair share of renowned musicians: John Mayer, Sugarland, Shawn Mullins, Josh Joplin, Billy Pilgrim, Kristen Hall, Indigo Girls, Sheryl Crowe, Ani DiFranco, The Black Crowes, Edwin McCain, Richard Shindell, Ellis Paul, Vance Gilbert, India.Arie and so many more. Then on Wednesday, I am pretty sure we get to see a bit of Hollywood week! Oh, the drama...

So, what do you think? Will Hotlanta breed some hot sing
