| IBM to add software for Apple devices
EMAIL software from IBM will be available on Apple iPhones and iPod Touch devices under a new partnership that brings together two big rivals of Microsoft. IBM plans a formal announcement of the Lotus Notes email package for Apple's portable devices at its Lotusphere conference in Orlando, Florida, next week. The software, which requires use of IBM's Domino email server program, will be free for users who already have a Lotus web-access licence and start at $US39 ($44) per year for new users. IBM also plans to release Lotus Notes and the free Lotus Symphony "productivity" package - which includes documents, spreadsheets and other Microsoft Office-like software - for Apple's Macintosh computers. With these moves, IBM is trying to find more avenues for its software and take advantage of Apple's natural affinity for Microsoft alternatives.
Brazilian GP - Sunday - Team Quotes
Kazuki Nakajima (10th): "First of all I would say I'm really sorry that some of my mechanics were injured during my pitstop and that I hope they're ok. It was a good first race for me but it was slightly overshadowed. My start itself was as good as the others around me, but I lost some positions because of the collision in front of me going into the first corner. I was then held up by Sato for quite some time before I could overtake him. Car balance was almost perfect, especially in the third stint on the option tyres. I really enjoyed the race and I did well physically. I would like to thank the team for giving me this great opportunity." Sam Michael, Technical Director: "Obviously our first concern is with our mechanics who were injured during Kazuki's pitstop, they are undergoing medical checks at the moment.
Renuka intervention in Mumbai molestation sparks row
Chowdhury's move to convene the meeting of the legal experts has come after reports that the Maharashtra government made some attempts to hush up the case and drop charges against the accused. The Mumbai police have arrested 14 youths for allegedly molesting the two NRI women. The girls, who hail from Gujarat and are settled in the US, were accompanied by two men and were molested and groped by a crowd of over 70 men on exiting from a five-star hotel in suburban Juhu after a dance performance. In a front-page article, the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Samna defended the men suspected to have molested the two women, and said they were actually trying to save the women, not harass them. It also blamed the "outsiders" for the crime and said they had done it to tarnish the city's image.
Age-old debate solution
We live in an age where those in power trot out deductive reasoning as bastions of extremes, such as conservative and liberal, further confusing and enslaving the masses. The battle between creationism and evolution has always been troubling to me, perhaps because of the absolute implications of both philosophies. May I propose a more politically correct term for the two warring factions with a new term, Inductive Selection? I use the word "inductive" in the sense of something that is initiated, rather then something that usually happens by accident, which would be the case when using deductive reasoning to explain either creationism or evolution. In the same sense, my use of the word "selection" deludes the randomization factor, adding an element of possible intelligence that is lacking in evolution.

Car and bus rental agencies in different parts of the state have roped in thousands of people from even rural areas where BSP is aggressively putting up roots. "Our target is to bring in 10 lakh people to fill up Shivaji Park," said Garud. BSP leaders hope that Sunday's crowds will match the huge Dalit gathering that arrive in Mumbai every year on December 6 to observe Dr Ambedkar's death anniversary. That would only be the first step for a school teacher turned politician to lay claim to the visionary leader's legacy. .
Keith Smith: Hard-headed trumpeter
Keith Smith was a powerful trumpeter, an astute businessman and a deeply unattractive man. He was better known for his achievements abroad than he was in Britain. They included at one time running a fish and chip shop in New Orleans – an innovation in the city – until it was suggested to him by the mob that he move on. A determined man who could think what was to other English musicians the unthinkable, Smith took his trumpet to the States and worked comfortably as the leader of musicians who in Britain were regarded as legends. His accomplished playing was broadly based on that of Louis Armstrong, but he had begun by moulding himself on the unsophisticated New Orleans style of Kid Howard and progressed eventually to take in the maverick and comparatively complex ideas of another New Orleanian, Red Allen.
Curtis backs stroll down quality street
O'Neill has only 23 players at his disposal, including three goalkeepers, but only signed midfielder Wayne Routledge for a cut-price 1.25million from Tottenham in January and off-loaded defender Gary Cahill to Bolton. The Northern Irishman has come in for criticism during local radio phone-ins for being unable to make additional signings. But Davies believes O'Neill is correct in not signing players just for the sake of it. He said: "It's not just about getting numbers up - it is about quality. "Because we have got one of the smallest squads in the Premier League, people may have expected us to sign a few more players but the gaffer knows what he is doing. "He likes to make shrewd signings rather than lots of signings and hopefully it will work out for us and we can get by without any injuries or suspensions." O'Neill has admitted he may revive his interest in the future in signing United States goalkeeper Brad Guzan after failing to obtain a work permit last month.
